Lesbians In Sports

I was thinking the other day that most female cyclists and female athletes I know are heterosexual, and I was wondering why sports are not an important part in the life of most lesbians.
There are in town some groups of gays and lesbians that get together to hike, walk or bike, but the amount of participants is very low and the quality of exercising is not really good. I guess that if you want to socialize without the usual alcohol drinking that goes on in the gay community, joining these groups is the best way to go, but still, I think that there is a great need to be more active in the sport's world to reduce the increasing amount of obesity that affects so many lesbians.

Kelly Clarkson Is Not A Lesbian

One of American Idol TV show winners Kelly Clarkson has told PopEater.com that she is not a lesbian.

"I get that all the time. People are like, 'Are you secretly a lesbian? Because I'd really love it". "Lesbians tell it to me all the time. I'm like, 'I'm glad it works for you and I wish I liked women like that because oftentimes men are very hard for me, but I happen to like boys."

Well, to tell you the truth I really don't care if she is gay or not. She is just not my type.
However, I do like Kelly's voice very much and her singing style and I wish the best for her as a singer. I just wonder why some singers and actors/actresses have the need to make public their sexual preference. Insecurities, maybe?

Final Season Of The L Word

I just love The L Word show so much and it's a shame that it has to end so soon. That's right. This year is its 6th season and the last one. I am going to miss it, that's for sure. I will miss it because it's the first lesbian TV show that talks about lesbian issues, lesbian sex, love and betrayal, as well as career and work successes and difficulties that we all face in our daily lesbian world.
Come on, you gotta love this show. Just because we are inundated with heterosexual movies and TV shows and it was soooo refreshing to be able to watch a show about lesbians FOR lesbians. Forgetting about the straight world we live in just for a little bit enjoying and the lesbian characters has been a real treat. Too bad it's going to end this year. I hope that new shows like this one can be produced in the near future. So far, I think that we have proved that we -gays and lesbians- are a vast TV audience and can generate substantial financial profits from the TV show commercial advertisers and sponsors for the producers of the show.

I love all the girls in the L Word but my favorite one in Jennifer Beals (Bette Porter). I think she's so hot. At one point, when she was in the movie Flashdance I really thought she was lesbian. But back then I was only 21 and my mind just went wild after watching her perform in that movie. Unfortunately I don't think she's gay.

Watch the first 8:32 minutes of the first episode of the final season of The L Word. Enjoy.

Gays And Lesbians Living Strong

I am very happy and excited about starting this new blogging adventure, but now focused only on gay and lesbian issues.
I have so many things to say and share with you. Many hopes, thoughts and experiences that I am sure we all live day by day and would love it if you share yours too in your comments in this blog.

We, gays and lesbians, live full and wonderful lives. We study, work, produce, get into politics, economy, science, arts, sports. We are everywhere and we are responsible and very productive to society. Pay our taxes faithfully and many of us are extraordinary examples of success and moral values.
We deserve to have a peaceful life free of hate and cruelty. But we have to offer the same to others, to everyone. We have to set an example of kindness, courtesy and compassion.

I know sometimes it can be really hard to deal day by day with self-righteous and intolerant people. But we are better than they are, and I mean way better. Not hating them back and taking care of our mental, physical and spiritual health to achieve longevity and prosperity is the best revenge, my friends.

Having said so...let us start to live strong!
